TourneyRank ("the Platform") is operated by Somerled Corp ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our Platform. By using TourneyRank, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

  • Account information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Contest entries: Your team rankings and entry names when you participate in tournaments.
  • Payment information: Payment details are collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, bank account number, or other financial account details on our servers.
  • Tax information: If you win prizes totaling $600 or more in a calendar year, we may collect tax identification information (SSN or TIN) as required by law.
  • Communications: Information you provide when you contact us for support.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, timestamps, and interaction patterns.
  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and device identifiers.
  • IP address: Used for security, fraud prevention, and to approximate your geographic location for eligibility verification.
  • Cookies: We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. See Section 7 for details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Process contest entries and payments.
  • Calculate scores, determine standings, and award prizes.
  • Send transactional emails (entry confirmations, payment receipts, tournament updates, and results).
  • Verify your eligibility to participate in contests.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations, including tax reporting requirements.

4. Information Sharing

  • Public leaderboards: Your entry name, display name, and scores are visible on public leaderboards. Your email address is never displayed publicly.
  • Payment processing: We share necessary information with Stripe to process payments. Stripe's use of your information is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Email delivery: We use Resend to send transactional emails. Your email address is shared with Resend solely for email delivery purposes.
  • Legal compliance: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or when necessary to protect our rights or the safety of our users.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure password hashing (bcrypt), and access controls on our databases and systems. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information as follows:

  • Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion by contacting us.
  • Contest data: Entry rankings and scores are retained indefinitely for leaderboard and historical purposes, even if your account is deleted. This data may be anonymized upon account deletion.
  • Payment records: Retained as required by tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years).
  • Usage logs: Retained for up to 12 months for security and analytics purposes.

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies: Required for authentication, session management, and security. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
  • Analytics: We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with the Platform. These cookies help us improve the user experience.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies from third-party advertisers.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
